Tourism chiefs from Worcestershire say it’s now full steam ahead for a super new initiative to help attract groups to this beautiful part of England, 17th and 18th February 2019.

The Severn Valley Railway and the Mercure Heath Hotel Bewdley have coupled together to offer tour planners from around the country a special dream ticket. And well known Worcester coach and tour operator, Elgar Coaches, will be adding their wheels to this celebration of transport.

Working with UK group travel specialists Steve Reed Tourism, a superb timetable of activities is scheduled for coach and tour operators and group travel organisers. On Sunday 17th February, the group of VIP tour planners – all potential bookers – will enjoy a relaxing tour of the some of the top tourist sights of the area. After that they’ll take in a ‘welcome to the Severn Valley’ dinner at the Mercure Heath Hotel in Bewdley.

On the Monday 18 February, the group will gather at Kidderminster Railway station for the start of a delightful railway journey down the length of the Severn Valley with stops and afternoon teas along the way. Elgar Coaches will link with the train to provide coach transport for the guests on that day.

Victoria Carman is the Marketing Manager for the Severn Valley Railway:

‘We’re so pleased to be working with our local tourism partners including the Mercure Heath Hotel Bewdley and Elgar Coaches to provide what will be a memorable experience for the travel trade.

‘There’s no better platform from which to attract new group bookings than to showcase your group offer in this way,’ says Victoria.

Tour planners are also invited to be day delegates for the Monday 18th February event. Those from further afield are being offered the chance to stay overnight on the Sunday evening. Places are subject to availability and eligibility. Anyone wishing to reserve places on this exclusive event should contact Steve Reed Tourism on [01420] 560288 or email steve@stevereedtourism.co.uk
