TWA Members Visit Top Attraction.

Tour planners from around the UK descended on one of the country’s top attractions for groups during a special TWA familiarisation tour.

The RAF Museum in Hendon, Northwest London was the venue for a highly enjoyable Travel World day out for members [11.09.19].

The Royal Air Force Museum London is located on the former Hendon Aerodrome. It includes 5 buildings and hangars showing the history of aviation and the Royal Air Force. It is part of the Royal Air Force Museum. There are over 85 historic aircraft covering the whole span of the Royal Flying Corps years until the Eurofighter Typhoon in Royal Air Force service today.

Located in Colindale, just off junction 4 of the M1 and near the end of the Northern Line Tube, the RAF Museum showcased its many attractions and exhibits during a fascinating visit.

The sister attraction of RAF Museum Cosford in Shropshire, the team at the London site treated the delegates to a five star educational visit taking in such attractions as the Spitfire Experience, the 4 D Red Arrows Ride, a huge Sea King Helicopter and the Dambusters VR  Experience.

The attendees, who included coach and tour operators Skinners coaches from Surrey and Hailstone Travel from Essex, as well as GTOS from Milton Keynes, Notts and London, enjoyed guided tours of the large site by the expert and entertaining guides. The Group Team at the RAF Museum including Odette and Vicky looked after the visitors very well.

Emma Parkes and Julie Cousins of Group Travel World magazine were in attendance as was Steve Reed ‘Champion’ of TWA.

‘The sheer quality and quantity of exhibits around the five hangars and buildings is quite stunning and certainly makes for a great group visit says,’ says Steve Reed.

‘The group also took in the excellent shop in the RAF Museum as well the delicious home cooked food. My favourite though was being able to sit in the cockpit of a real Spitfire!

The trip to the RAF Museum was just one of a series of on-going showcase visits and fams for TWA members and associates around the country. Recent tours have included Stonor Park in Buckinghamshire and an HF Holidays trip to the Cotswolds.
