Lancashire Attraction Hosts Group Travel Forum North.

Event Boosts Group Bookings.

Samlesbury Hall in Lancashire was the venue for the Group Travel Forum North event last week.

Arranged by Hampshire based UK travel trade specialists Steve Reed Tourism Ltd in conjunction with the Last Drop Village Hotel of Bolton; the Holiday Inn Express Burnley; Kittywake Cruises of Wigan and Ena Mill Retail of Atherton in Greater Manchester, the Forum brought coach and tour operators and group travel organisers together with the travel trade.

40 exhibitors – hotels, attractions and destinations – met tour planners to discuss group bookings and tour itineraries.

The event was an opportunity to meet face to face and arrange tours, holidays, breaks and excursions – all under one roof.

And the 700 year old venue of Samlesbury Hall – complete with its own resident witch – provided the perfect setting for this business-generating event.

Steve Reed is the MD of Steve Reed Tourism Ltd:

‘The Group Travel Forum North was ideal for helping to boost group bookings. The event gave the sellers of group products the ideal chance to meet with real and active group buyers from all over the UK in the historic setting of wonderful Samlesbury Hall.

‘Our next Forum – at the famous Brooklands Museum in Weybridge, Surrey takes place on Monday 30th April and we are now gearing up for that to help ensure it too is a big success, says Steve.

Many of the tour planners gave the event the thumbs up. Mark Anderson of Roadmark Travel in Sussex had this to say:

‘Thank you for another well organised and useful Steve Reed Tourism event, showcasing some of the top group hotels and attractions. I renewed some old acquaintances and made several valuable new contacts. One such was Kittywake Cruises, who laid on a fascinating and very enjoyable cruise for us. I thought too that historic Samlesbury Hall was an ideal venue for the group travel event, and another attraction that we will be visiting in the future, says Mark.

Group travel Organiser John Flynn of Role On Travel also enjoyed the event:

‘A huge thank you for all your hard work putting together the Group Travel Forum-North at Samlesbury Hall. It was a fabulous day with the added bonus of a wonderful witch. We made some connections that were tailor made for our group, especially Evans Hotel, Llandudno, Warner Hotels Boddelwydan, Browsholme Hall, Leighton Hall and definitely Ena Mill.’
