Aston Martin Connection at Yorkshire Hotel.
A Yorkshire Dales hotel this week welcomed the UK travel trade during a special showcase event.
The Durker Roods Hotel near the historic village of
Holmfirth – famous for its Last of The
Summer Wine connections – hosted a group of coach and tour operators from
around the country.
A pleasant country house hotel in the beautiful
Yorkshire countryside, Durker Roods was once the home of Aston Martin owner and
Huddersfield entrepreneur Sir David Brown – hence the ‘DB’ prefix to the iconic
James Bond movie car.
Now Durker Roods has opened its doors to groups keen
to make the most of the excellent location, hotel facilities and great service.
‘We were very pleased to be able to unveil this lovely
and friendly hotel to tour planners. It’s really now a new addition to the Yorkshire
accommodation sector for groups and it’s pleasing that the tour buyers were impressed
by what they experienced at Durker,’ says Steve Reed of UK travel trade
specialists Steve Reed Tourism Ltd.
The attendees included Reays Coaches of Wigton in
Cumbria; Voels Coaches of North Wales; Ellen Smith Tours of Rochdale and
Acklam’s Coaches of Beverley in East Yorkshire.
The Confederation of Passenger Transport [CPT] from
the Northwest and Northeast regions also attended the set piece.
Belle Vue Coaches of Stockport in Greater Manchester
also participated in the event and provided high quality coach transport for
the delegates who took in tours of Holmfirth and of the nearby Holmfirth
Vineyard.
Durker Roods is part of a growing portfolio of
group-friendly hotels operated by Cheshire based Merydion Investments. Another
hotel for tour planners to consider is their Northop Hotel in Flintshire, North
Wales.
