Durham Christmas Festival under the Spotlight.

1-3 December Event Welcomes Coaches.
The annual Durham Christmas Festival takes place 1-3 December 2023 and it’s a ‘must visit’ event for coach parties. This year it’s being filmed.
Organised by
Durham Markets Company, the event will be under sharp focus as it will be
filmed by UK travel trade specialists Steve Reed Tourism working with communications
specialist Emma Hignett of Staindrop in Durham. The finished short film will be
sent to hundreds of coach and tour operators around the country so they can
include the popular event in their tour schedules.
‘We’re
really looking forward to working with Emma Hignett and will enjoy having the
iconic backdrop of the historic City of Durham providing the context for this
production,’ says Steve Reed.
‘The festive
set piece is ideal for groups and coach parties so we want to encourage coach
and tour companies to reserve their parking early in the process – before we
know it the 2024 Festival will be on us!.’
The filming
will take in some of the main areas of the Festival and will include interviews
with key individuals who work to put this prestigious event together each year.
Steve Reed Tourism has produced numerous short films of attractions, events and
destinations around the UK over recent years and this will be the latest. Each
production aims to make it easy for tour planners to bring their groups.
A visit
to Durham Christmas Festival is a visit to three seasonal markets, all full of
small independent businesses providing unique products that you’re not going to
find on a regular high street. The Craft & local Food Producers’
Marquee* on Palace Green, in the shadow of Durham’s stunning Cathedral, is home
to more than 140 stalls selling gifts, seasonal decorations, festive food and
drink and so much more. (Please note there is an entrance fee for this marquee,
discounted entry is available in advance from the festival website. Visitors
can also enjoy a Festive Outdoor Market in Durham market Place and discover 40
more businesses in Durham Market Hall.
