The next Daish’s and Friends GTO Showcase is to take place on Thursday 20th October in the Midlands.

Dudley – famous for being the backdrop to the Peaky Blinders TV drama - is to be the special location for this memorable occasion.

The Black Country Living Museum and an underground voyage at the nearby Dudley Canal and Caverns attraction will provide the amazing setting for this now regular event.

GTOS and coach operators are being invited to sign up.

Organised by Daish’s Holidays https://www.daishs.com/groups in conjunction with Steve Reed Tourism Ltd and Discover Dudley https://discover.dudley.gov.uk/welcome-to-dudley/  the highly enjoyable set piece is an opportunity for tour planners, group travel organisers and coach and tour operators, to meet Daish’s Holidays group team as well as some great  attractions.

Commencing at 10.00, the free event offers an exhibition of tourism attractions; free car parking on-site; refreshments and lunch; a 45 minute guided boat trip underground through the limestone mines; a tour of the Black Country Living Museum led by a Museum tour guide and free time until 16.00.

The boat trip and Black Country Living Museum are next door to each other and easily accessed by the visiting guests.

‘We’re looking forward to the event on 20th October and are very pleased to have it hosted in conjunction with two wonderful attractions,’ says Martin Jenkins of Daish’s Holidays.

‘Daish’s have twelve hotels in ten resorts spread all around England and Wales. From as far afield as the Lake District and Scarborough to Llandudno and Devon and Cornwall. They’re perfect for GTOS and coach companies as we offer great service; delicious food; entertainment every night and coach tours from those superb locations.’

Nicola Beckley is the Tourism Development Officer for Discover Dudley:

‘The travel trade is important for Dudley and its many tourism businesses so we were very happy to work with two of our very popular attractions to make this event a reality.’

‘The tour planners will also have the chance to meet the people behind attractions and group venues at a mini exhibition when they attend and they can find out about the great offering we have for groups in Dudley,’ says Nicola.

The previous Daish’s and Friends event was hosted by Samlesbury Hall in Lancashire earlier this year.

Tour planners wishing to register for this event should email steve@stevereedtourism.co.uk – places are subject to eligibility and availability.
